Nativity Spirit Service Award Dinner

Every year we come together as a community to celebrate what makes Nativity Prep so special and to bestow the Raymond J. Callahan, SJ Service Award on deserving individuals who exemplify the vision, values and virtues that animated Fr. Callahan’s life.

We are proud to present the award this year to Rick and LeeAnn Miller.

About Rick and LeeAnn Miller

Rick and LeeAnn Miller truly embody the Jesuit tenet of being “men and women for others,” and serve as shining examples for our students and members of the greater Boston community.  Rick and LeeAnn have long been proponents of our Jesuit mission to equalize disparities in our society through education, and at Nativity Prep they found a program that truly works.

Rick has been a Board Member since 2006 and is currently the Vice-Chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees. He was a co-chair of Nativity Prep’s successful Securing the Promise capital campaign that raised in excess of $10 million to add a fourth grade class and to endow both the master teacher program and an expanded Graduate Support office. Rick has actively participated in strategic planning to support the school’s continued growth and success, despite an often hectic schedule as Group Managing Director at TCW Direct Lending.

At Nativity Prep, LeeAnn is popular among the students and staff as a dinner cook for the Evening Study Program. LeeAnn loves to show her support for Nativity Prep by sharing her passion for cooking with the boys and their tutors, whom she considers her Nativity Prep family. On the days that LeeAnn cooks, Evening Study becomes even more popular!

About the Award

Raymond J. Callahan, SJ faithfully served Nativity Prep as Executive Director. His life was defined by a commitment to justice and a belief in the power of education to transform lives and change the world.  Fr. Callahan saw Nativity’s mission as doing “God’s work” by breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
